Kwesi Arthur’s contract with Ground Up Chale was a 60-40 split in favor of the label, according to Glen’s lawyer, Jonathan Amable. The contract, signed in 2017, was for four years with an option for a two-year renewal. Amable stated that Kwesi Arthur received £91,370 in royalty disbursements and $118,712 from Platoon for his Son of Jacob album but failed to pay Ground Up Chale its share.

The dispute centers around Kwesi Arthur’s use of visuals produced by Ground Up Chale, with the label demanding $150,000 for unauthorized use. Kwesi Arthur claims he’s earned nothing from his music and is being extorted by Ground Up Chale.
